Summary
When attempting to log into HipChat Server v1.3.x from the Windows v4.0 HipChat Client, the HipChat logo continuously refreshes and the login never succeeds or fails.
Steps to Reproduce
- Install HipChat Windows 4.0
- Click 'Get Started' for HipChat Server
- Enter HipChat Server URL
- Enter user email and password
- Observe endless loading on login
Expected Results
Login succeeds
Actual Results
The HipChat logo is continuously redrawn and the login never succeeds or fails.
Workaround
Option 1 - Revert to an older client version
- Uninstall the HipChat for Windows v4.0 client
- Download a previous version by accessing https://<hcsFQDN>/downloads to retrieve the version bundled with HipChat Server or download Windows client v2.2.1397
- Install previous version
Option 2 - Install a patched version of HipChat for Windows v4.0
- Uninstall the current HipChat for Windows v4.0 client
- Download the patched version from the link below:
https://hipchat-ops.s3.amazonaws.com/hipchat4/windows/HipChat_4.0.1614.exe - Install the patched version and attempt to connect
If the patched version of HipChat for Windows (v4.0.1614) does not resolve the problem, please review HCPUB-25 to determine if it is relevant. If not, please create a HipChat Server support ticket at https://support.atlassian.com/ for additional assistance.
Notes
Upgrading to HipChat Server v1.3.7 (currently in beta) may help to resolve this issue, but has not yet been confirmed. Please try the workarounds listed above first and only attempt the upgrade to HipChat Server v1.3.7 after creating a backup in case a rollback is needed.

- Upload a PHP file to the server using a client
- Click on the PHP file, and then on Download
Expected Results
The file should be downloaded as usual.
Actual Results
The user is redirected to the browser, where an nginx 500 Internal Server Error is displayed.
